Applied Science

Bioscience Association started in the year 2007, and all students of Bioscience are members of this forum. The objective of the forum is to conduct science-based competitions on a regular basis to stimulate students learning ability. The forum provides various avenues for budding biologists to share their novel, revolutionary ideas and scientific thoughts in the field of bioscience with their counterparts and experts across India. The Association organizes Guest Lectures, Seminars, Symposia, Conferences, and Workshops by inviting eminent experts from the esteemed institutions such as University of Leeds, University of Malaya, Teesside University, National Institute of Plant genome Research, New Delhi (NIPGR), ), Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (IISc), Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT), Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysuru (CFTRI), Central Universities, Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, Lucknow (CSIR – IITR), Institute of Microbial Technology, Chandigarh (CSIR – IMTECH), Central Leather Research Institute, Chennai (CSIR – CLRI), National Institute of Oceanography, Kochi (CSIR – NIO), North East Institute of Science and Technology, Itanagar (CSIR – NEIST) etc.,

The Electronics and Communication Systems Students’ Association (ECSNOVA) represents current students within the ECS Department. The goal is to organize social and professional activities to strengthen and enrich the community within the department which also helps in developing leadership and entrepreneurship qualities of the ECS students. It organizes technical and social events, host talks by guest speakers, workshops, intra Department sports and State level annual day festival. The ECSNOVA student’s forum has Science, Arts and Sports clubs to organize a various curricular and non-curricular activities for the benefits of the students.

The Department of Costume Design and Fashion actively fosters an innovative spirit among aspiring designers through various department-related activities. The student association, “ESTILIO VIAGGIO,” meaning “A Fashion Journey,” plays a pivotal role in organizing a range of events and initiatives.

Activities of “ESTILIO VIAGGIO”:

Exhibitions: Exhibitions are conducted to promote small business/ entrepreneurs as a part of “EARN WHILE LEARN” a scheme developed to spread awareness and promote the student’s brand. Students create their own products from scratch and sell them. Pricing the products, promoting, and marketing is all taught in a practical way. It also provides students with a platform to showcase their creative and entrepreneurial talents to a wider audience. Participating in such events enhances students’ communication and presentation skills, essential for future professional endeavours.

Fashion Shows: Fashion shows and Designer shows are a platform for designers to unveil their latest collections. Each designer’s unique vision and style are brought to life through the carefully curated pieces presented on the runway. Participation in various fashion shows and costume displays helps students gain practical experience and exposure in the field. This enhances their understanding of real-world scenarios and trends.

Women Empowerment: The department has organized a three-month certificate course on basic tailoring and embroidery for local women, successfully training over 60 participants and significantly enhancing their livelihoods.

Forge Magazine: A Platform for Student Voices and Creativity

An exciting initiative designed to empower students to express their ideas, creativity, and unique perspectives. As a dynamic platform, Forge serves as a space where students can share their thoughts, showcase their talents, and engage with a diverse array of topics that resonate with our vibrant campus community.

Training the under privileged women: Training the tribal and underprivileged women of Vellalor, Kallar, and Gudalur on different life skills, stitching, pattern making, and Jewellery making.

Joy of giving: The Department of Costume Design and Fashion every year constructs around 300 Jabla socks and distributes them to the newborn babies of the Government Hospital.

The Psychology Department Association “PSIGEMONAS” is the student body organization at Sri Krishna College of Arts and Science. The Association is managed by nominated office bearers – President, Vice-president, Secretary, and Joint secretaries, who work in close co-ordination with the class representatives. All office bearers are from undergraduate classes and they organize various events and activities like awareness and sensitization programmes on disability, suicide prevention, and mental health and so on. The association aims to increase student participation and interest in the field of Psychology through both academic and creative endeavors. The association also organizes both intra and intra college competitions, and has successfully created a network of alumni that connects aspiring and practicing psychologists who possess practical knowledge and skills.
