The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of the Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. It provides opportunity to the students of India to take part in various government led community service activities & programmes. The National Service Scheme (NSS) at Sri Krishna Arts and Science College is a vibrant and integral part of the institution’s commitment to community service and social responsibility. Established with the aim of fostering a spirit of volunteerism, social awareness, and active participation in community development, the NSS program at the college has made a significant impact on both the campus and the surrounding communities. Under the guidance of experienced faculty advisors, NSS volunteers organize and participate in numerous events and projects throughout the year. These include blood donation camps, awareness campaigns on important social issues, tree planting drives, cleanliness and sanitation initiatives, and educational programs for underprivileged children. By actively engaging in such activities, the NSS unit at Sri Krishna Arts and Science College contributes to the overall well-being of society.

The motto of National Service Scheme is NOT ME BUT YOU The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of the Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. It provides opportunity to the students of India to take part in various government led community service activities & programmes.
The sole aim of the NSS is to provide hands-on experience to young students in delivering community service.
An NSS volunteer who takes part in the community service programme would be an active member who has the exposure and experience to be the following:
- an accomplished social leader
- an efficient administrator
- a person who understands human nature.

- General Medical Camp by Govt Hospitals, Alandurai
- Eye Camp by Eye Foundation, R.S.Puram, Coimbatore
- Cleaning Drives in the village at various places – School, Bus Stop, Library, Primary Health Center, Panchayat Office
- Plantation Drives: More than 250 saplings were planted and are being maintained by our NSS Team.
- Literacy Program: Computer Literacy have been conducted for the Govt Middle School Kids.
- Signature campaigns to raise awareness on Open Defecation Free (ODF) project under Swachhta Action Plan, Mahatma Gandhi National Council for Rural Education, Ministry of Education, Govt of India.
- Constructed toilets for the school under SAP
- Youth Survey have been conducted to identify the youths having no regular employment and have been submitted to Bharathiar University, Coimbatore as part of Youth Empowerment Project by State NSS Cell.
- Kumittipathy:
- General Medical Camp by Govt Primary Health Center.
- Cleaning Drives to clean various places in the village including bus stop, Govt Hr Sec School, Public Toilet, Streets
- Signature campaigns to raise awareness on Open Defecation Free (ODF) project under Swachhta Action Plan, Mahatma Gandhi National Council for Rural Education, Ministry of Education, Govt of India.
- As part of SAP Project under MGNCRE-MoE-GOI, have conducted many awareness rallies to eradicate Open Defecation in the village.
- Renovated the public toilet area under SAP Project.
