The Department of Languages, under the leadership of Dr. R. Vijayasamundeswari, M.A., B.Ed., Ph.D., Dean and Vice Principal, offers an array of language courses including Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, and French as Part I Paper. With over 24 years of teaching experience and a wealth of accolades, including being elected twice as the Senate Member of Bharathiar University and receiving prestigious awards such as the “Best Faculty” and “Vocational Service Excellence Award,” Dr. Vijayasamundeswari stands as a beacon of expertise and dedication. Her Ph.D. thesis on Panmozhi Sulalil Tamil Kattral in the Learning of Tamil by Other Language Students” underscores her commitment to enhancing language education.
As an eminent scholar in Modern Literature, Dr. Vijayasamundeswari’s significant achievements include editing and publishing six books, namely Neerthivalaikal, Neeraambal, Sudarazhi, Naveena Ilakkiyathin Nagarvukal, Panichimizh, and Pen Padaippugal, showcasing her depth of knowledge and commitment to advancing literature. She has presented numerous research papers in national and international seminars.
Additionally, her mentorship has guided students to achieve doctorates, while her involvement in various educational boards has contributed to academic excellence. Dr. Vijayasamundeswari’s passion for language and education extends beyond the classroom, as evidenced by her vibrant oratory skills and organizational prowess in arranging events, conferences, and seminars. Her global engagements in countries like Malaysia, Dubai, and the United States highlight her commitment to advancing educational insights worldwide. Under her guidance, the Department of Languages fosters a nurturing environment through initiatives like the “Tamil Mandram” platform, aimed at uncovering students’ hidden talents and nurturing their character and personality through diverse programs and activities.

Dr. A. Alagarsamy, M.A., M.Phil., B.L.,NET, Ph.D is the Professor and Head of the Department of Social Work and Public Administration . His area of interest is HRD, Training, Corporate Social Responsibility, Advocacy, Public Relations and Counseling. He is a resource person to corporate and NGO’s. He has about 20 years of teaching experience and also has 10 years of industrial experience.
He has received credentials for academic performance from the College, also for social activities from social welfare organization’s like National Child Labour Project (NCLP),Lions and Rotract Clubs. He has been highly appreciated by the District Collector, Non Governmental Organizations and Educational Institutions and received awards for 2 major projects on child labour, Environmental Issues and Problems in Coimbatore. He is a member of board of studies for social work department for collages.

Kavitha, a renowned academician, currently heads the Department of English, bringing with her 17 years of rich experience, including 14 years of exemplary service at Sri Krishna Arts and Science College. Her profound expertise in English language and literature has significantly shaped the academic landscape, inspiring countless students and colleagues alike. Since assuming leadership five months ago, Dr. Kavitha has demonstrated unwavering dedication and a passion for academic excellence, skillfully guiding the department through a transformative period.
Her exceptional mentoring abilities empower students to reach their full potential, while her innovative approach to curriculum development and teaching methodologies fosters an engaging learning environment. Dr. Kavitha’s commitment to research and scholarly pursuits further elevates the department’s academic standing, positioning it as a center of excellence in English studies.
