National Service Scheme ( NSS )
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of the Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. It provides opportunity to the students of India to take part in various government led community service activities & programmes. The National Service Scheme (NSS) at Sri Krishna Arts and Science College is a vibrant and integral part of the institution's commitment to community service and social responsibility. Established with the aim of fostering a spirit of volunteerism, social awareness, and active participation in community development, the NSS program at the college has made a significant impact on both the campus and the surrounding communities. Under the guidance of experienced faculty advisors, NSS volunteers organize and participate in numerous events and projects throughout the year. These include blood donation camps, awareness campaigns on important social issues, tree planting drives, cleanliness and sanitation initiatives, and educational programs for underprivileged children. By actively engaging in such activities, the NSS unit at Sri Krishna Arts and Science College contributes to the overall well-being of society.
The sole aim of the NSS is to provide a hands-on experience to young students in delivering community service.
An NSS volunteer who takes part in the community service programme would be an active member who has the exposure and experience to be the following:
(i) an accomplished social leader
(ii) an efficient administrator
(iii) a person who understands human nature.
