Mission:
Our vision is to transform Coimbatore into a zero-accident city and set an example for road safety.

Vision:
We aim to drive a people's movement for road safety, instilling a sense of responsibility among citizens for the well-being of all road users. We will collaborate with the government and NGOs to make Coimbatore the safest city for road travel in the country.

Tragically, India witnesses a high number of road accident fatalities, especially among those aged 25-40. Despite having just 1% of the world's vehicles, the country contributes to over 6% of global road traffic deaths, with one death occurring every six minutes on Indian roads. This alarming statistic is projected to worsen, reaching one death every three minutes by 2020. Furthermore, for each road accident death, at least ten individuals endure lifelong disabilities due to severe accidents. These distressing statistics underscore the urgent need for comprehensive road safety initiatives. To address this issue, Ganga Hospital, in collaboration with Rotary Clubs from District 3200, has initiated a groundbreaking program called 'UYIR,' meaning 'life.' This program seeks to mobilize all segments of society and improve road safety awareness to combat the prevalence of reckless driving and non-compliance with safety measures among the public. In a proactive effort to make a substantial impact in the fight against road accidents and to raise widespread awareness on the critical issue of road safety, the Uyir Club at Sri Krishna Arts and Science College has assumed a pivotal role within our institution. The Uyir Club, driven by a deep commitment to the cause, has undertaken the responsibility of championing this project. Our primary goal is to instill a profound sense of social responsibility within our vibrant student community. The Uyir Club is dedicated to actively engaging students in a multitude of activities that promote road safety and consciousness. By fostering a sense of social responsibility among our students and engaging them in meaningful initiatives, we aspire to be at the forefront of the battle against road accidents and contribute to a safer and more responsible society.
